Craft Supplies for Sale - Heavily Discounted!

Grab bags for sale!

I'm doing a major clean in my craft room and thanks to very generous design teams and owning a store, I have more products that I can fit into one room!

I'm selling 11 grab bags (aka boxes) that will include the following:

-3 12x12 stencils (The Crafters Workshop)

-2 6x6 stencils (The Crafters Workshop)

-3-4 stamp sets (Sweet 'n Sassy, Wendy Vecchi, others)

-bag of paints, sprays, and other mediums (5-6 bottles each) (Distress, Dylusions, Art Anthology, and more)

-1-2 sheets of alphabet stickers

-3-4 embellishment packs

-1 sheet of grunge paper

-Some boxes include a die or embossing folder

The majority of the stencils are unused, but a few have paint on them. The stamp sets are mostly used, a few new ones are included. Some of the paints/sprays have been used, but I tried to include only ones that were almost full. The sticker and embellishment packs are incomplete, meaning some of the product has been used.

The retail value of these products is approximately $100 and I'm selling these boxes for $39.95 + shipping. Please note that I live on the east coast so shipping to the west coast could cost $10 or more. All sales are final, there are no exchanges or refunds, and you purchase these boxes with the understanding that some products are used.

If interested, please email me at ksdm@comcast.net and I will send you a Paypal invoice. You do not need to have a Paypal account to pay, credit card payments are accepted.

Thanks for giving some of my beloved products a new home! Happy Crafting!

The Best Thing About Me...

Hello friends! Jumping in with a quick post to announce the release of another darling Sweet 'n Sassy stamp set, Stand Tall. This set features lots of sweet creatures and sentiments that are perfect for Valentine's Day or any time you want to send a little love in the mail. Here's a peek at the entire set:
To create my card I stamped the giraffe, bird, and butterfly on a piece of cardstock and colored them with Copic Markers. I created the spotted background using a stencil from The Crafters Workshop and a technique from Jennifer McQuire. You can see Jennifer's video here. For the hearts on the card base, I die cut a few hearts and added a piece of embossed cardstock behind the cut outs. The hearts create a great pop of color and shine!

Be sure to check out the Sweet 'n Sassy store this week to see all of the new sets. The best news? Select stamp sets are now 30% off! WooHoo! Love me a sale! Happy shopping!

Wendy Vecchi Wednesday - Art Journal Spread

Hi friends! Welcome to what I hope will be a weekly or every other week post showcasing Wendy Vecchi products. WooHoo! I've had this idea in my mind since attending one of Wendy's classes at the Papercraft Clubhouse in Westbook, CT last summer, but it's been challenging to find the time to regularly craft. Maybe if I make this concept public it will help me to stay on track and get in the studio more often!

It's no secret that I'm a huge Wendy Vecchi fan and feel that she is one of a kind when it comes to designers (and all around fabulous people!) in that her work is truly unique. Not only are her projects distinct, but she consistently works to develop new and innovative techniques using existing products (or developing new ones!) Wendy is someone who primarily develops her own techniques vs. re-inventing existing ones. Her techniques are born out of her own ideas and time spend playing with products and how they interact. As someone whose brain doesn't work that way, I find her way of creating imaginative and inspiring. That's one of the reasons I'd like to highlight her products and techniques...to help showcase her talents.

By the way, if you've never taken one of Wendy's class...find one and sign up! You'll be so surprised by the depth of detail that goes into her art. And if you haven't been to Tracie's store, Papercraft Clubhouse, then get going! She has a beautiful, large location filled to the brim with lots of mixed media, card making, and scrapbooking supplies. I was giddy to be back in an actual store again, since there aren't any brick and mortar stores near me (insert wailing) and during Wendy's class, I shopped during every single break! OK...enough chatting, let's get down to business!

This project was created using a ton of Wendy's products, see links at the end of the post, and while I had hoped to have a video to go along with this spread my files were corrupted during the upload process. UGH! I thought about not even sharing this without the video, but I didn't want to skip this fun project, and I'll do my best to jot down my step by step process.
I'm working in a small (5" x 8") Dylusions journal and I started by painting the edges of two pages with Distress Paint. Once the paint was dry I used one of Wendy's background stamps (Ticking) and Cornflower Blue Archival Ink to add the stripes. I love the stripes over the painted background!

Next, I got to work on my two main panels, which were created using Specialty Stamping Paper. I used a re-inker technique developed by Wendy (you can see her technique video here) to create the beautiful swirls of color you see in the photo below. Then I added a few layers of design, using Wendy's Archival Inks and stencils from The Crafters Workshop. For even more texture, I added some stamping using Wendy's Mesh background stamp. I also added some leaf stamping behind the flowers. This gave my vase the appearance of a fuller bouquet.

Once my layers were completed I got to work on adding a few extra elements as well as working on the vase and flowers. The license plate image was stamped on Wendy's newsprint paper, using her License Plate Art stamp set. The tiny hearts are from her Mat Mini collection, I colored the hearts with a Copic marker, and the strings are hand drawn. The bird, perched on the license plates, is another mat mini, and it has been stamped with its coordinating stamp, which is how it gets all of that great design. I just colored the mat mini with a few Distress Inks after stamping the bird.

To create the flowers and vase, I first adhered a piece of newsprint to a piece of Clearly for Art and then stamped the images onto the newsprint. I used Copic markers to color the images and then cut each image out. I also stamped a few extra flowers so I could layer them for extra dimension.

When you heat Clearly for Art it softens and you can mold the flowers and vase into a shape. This really helps to bring the flowers to life, and I was even able to bend the vase in a way that it appears slightly rounded. So much fun!

Once the pieces were attached to my pages, I added some glossy accents and Wink of Stellar glitter pen to a few areas on both pages, and added tiny gold pearls to the middle of each flower. Adding the sentiment was the final step.

Whew...if you're still with me, congratulations! I know this was a lengthy post. Sorry about that! Creating videos has been so much fun, as it cuts down on so much copy and let's you just watch the process. Hoping to get a new video, featuring Wendy's products, up in a week or two. Until then...I hope you enjoyed today's art journal spread...happy crafting!

Not Finished

Hello friends! Just a quick post from me today, sharing another brand new Sweet 'n Sassy stamp set, God is for You. The new set features six encouraging sentiments that can be used to mix with any type of images or designs. The entire stamp set can be seen below:

I broke out my brand new Zig Clean Color Watercolor Brushes for this project. (Ohhh...I'm so excited about these markers...they rock!) I started by stamping and embossing a few flowers from the Lovely Lotus stamp set with white embossing powder. Once my embossing was cool, I colored the flowers and background with the Zig markers. The sentiment and dragonflies were stamped in black Archival Ink and the panel was mounted on black cardstock. Pretty simple card, but those great Zig colors pack a powerful punch.

Be sure to head to the Sweet 'n Sassy store to check out all of the new products! I'll be back with a new card, featuring another new set, next week.

Happy Crafting!

As the Deer Bible Journaling Layout

Don't anyone panic, but this is my second post this week...second post...it's a miracle and it isn't even Christmas! LOL! Truth be told I have been crafting quite a bit, but then I never seem to find the time to post on ye 'ole blog. I'm trying to be better about regular posting so keep your fingers crossed!

This week I'm going to be all about Sweet 'n Sassy since they are releasing their new January stamp sets. The sets I used on this layout is from the new As the Deer stamp set, which is part of their Creative Worship designs. (You can see the full set below) Not only does this set include a hedgehog...hello...what else do you need in a set (LOVE!), but it also includes other sweet woodland creatues along with a stream, clouds, trees, and lots of other scene building goodies. Seriously, so many options with this set! I can't wait to create a few cards too!
Since I have been having so much fun Bible journaling, I had to use this set to create a new layout. This also gave me a great excuse to experiment with using Gelatos to add color to the background. I've also been trying out some different inks and gesso on the Bible pages, to see what works well with the thin paper.

I created a video of my project and share some of the tricks that I have found that work well on these pages. A few photos follow, along with a link to the video and a supply list.

Happy Crafting!

Bible Journaling - Don't Give Up

Bible journaling has been on my creative radar for months now and when Christmas rolled around Santa (aka my hubby) delivered in a big way. I was thrilled when I opened the box and saw that My Creative Bible was enclosed. This particular journaling Bible includes a lot of pre-made artwork, mostly in the way of Scripture passages, noted on the sides of the pages (I love the use of the different fonts), as well as a few drawn images on some of the pages. I really like that some artwork was included as it took some of the "pressure" off of knowing how or where to start.

My first layout includes very simple coloring, of a passage included in the Bible, along with a tiny bit of stamping, die cutting, and a water color technique that quickly and easily adds sheer color to the pages. While I adore most of the Bible journaling that I see online, it is important for me to make sure that the words can still be easily read. It could be far too easy to treat this like any other art journal vs. remembering that it's a Bible.

I'm sharing a few other photos below and included a video of how this layout developed. As always, if you're not interested in Bible journaling you can apply the same techniques that I'm sharing to any art journal, card, or scrapbook layout.

One of my goals for this year is to post more frequently to my blog and I'm hoping to share a greater range of projects, from cards to art journal pages, scrapbook pages, and Bible journaling. Fingers crossed! :-)
